Juventus Near Agreement for Sorloth as Vlahovic Departure Approaches

Juventus have taken a decisive step into their post-Dusan Vlahovic era, reaching a full agreement with Alexander Sorloth and now turning the spotlight on Atletico Madrid to close the deal.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Norway international has accepted a contract worth €4m per season, running until 2029 with an option for 2030. The player side is done. Now it is a race against the clock.

Juve want everything wrapped up before the World Cup kicks off, a deadline that is far from symbolic. Sorloth’s Norway will make their World Cup debut against Iraq on June 17 (CET), and the Bianconeri would like their new No. 9 secured before he steps onto that stage.

This is not just a routine market move. It is a response to a looming void. Vlahovic has decided to leave Turin as a free agent at the end of his contract in June, forcing Juventus to move aggressively for a ready-made replacement rather than a long-term project.

Atletico’s stance is clear. The Spanish club are open to selling Sorloth and have set an asking price in the €30m–35m range. His form has not gone unnoticed in Europe, with Premier League clubs also tracking the powerful centre-forward who has impressed in Madrid, as underlined by his goals in LaLiga EA Sports.

Juventus, though, believe they can bring that figure down. Their target is a fee under €30m, and they are prepared to use every lever available to them to make it happen.

One of those levers is Nico Gonzalez. The midfielder spent the 2025-26 season on loan at the Wanda Metropolitano and has made it clear he does not want to return to Turin this summer. Atletico are interested in keeping him permanently, but Juventus may need to offer a discount on his transfer to unlock a compromise on Sorloth’s price.

The negotiations are now entering their decisive phase. No handshake yet between the clubs, but in Turin there is confidence that an agreement with the Colchoneros will eventually be found.

The plan is already drawn up. If the deal is struck before the World Cup begins, a Juventus representative will immediately fly to the USA to oversee Sorloth’s medical tests and finalise the move.

For Juventus, the message is unmistakable: Vlahovic is on his way out, and they intend to have his successor in place before the world starts watching.
