The current British transfer record is held by Liverpool's £125m signing of Alexander Isak, but Arsenal appears prepared to exceed that figure to secure Alvarez’s services. Discussions may involve an exchange, possibly including Viktor Gyokeres plus cash, although Atletico reportedly prefers players like Gabriel Jesus or Gabriel Martinelli in any swap deal.

Challenges Ahead

Alvarez is thought to favor Barcelona, with ongoing talks between him and the Catalan club. Despite this, Arsenal believes personal terms will not be a major hurdle and is ready to meet Atletico’s valuation.
