Born in Nice on 28 November 2003, Nadir came through his hometown club’s academy before Marseille secured his signature in the summer of 2021. The move to the south of France’s football cauldron hardened him quickly.

He broke into Marseille’s first team in 2023 and did not merely hover on the fringes. Nadir played 53 official matches for the club, scoring two goals and providing five assists. The numbers are modest but telling for a young midfielder operating in a high-pressure environment and competing for minutes in a demanding squad.

European nights added another layer to his education. Nadir made four appearances in the Champions League and two in the Europa League, tasting the tempo and intensity of continental football before his 21st birthday. Those minutes now travel with him to Hamburg’s dressing room.
