Chelsea's Transfer Updates: Neto, Mudryk, and Leao

Chelsea’s attacking jigsaw is shifting again, with big names linked to the exit door, a potential marquee arrival on the table and a midfield contingency plan quietly taking shape behind the scenes.

Neto interest grows as £100m price tag set

Pedro Neto’s future at Stamford Bridge is anything but secure. The winger is attracting serious attention, with Al-Hilal and several Premier League clubs monitoring his situation, and Chelsea are fully aware of the noise around him.

So far, though, there have been no formal bids.

Chelsea are not openly touting Neto around, but they are ready to listen. The club have put a steep valuation on the 24-year-old, understood to be close to £100m, a figure that underlines just how inflated the current market has become. Any club wanting to test their resolve will have to pay a premium.

For now, Neto stays. The question is: who blinks first before the window closes?

Mudryk loan race heats up with Coventry push

On the opposite flank, another Chelsea winger could be heading out – but only temporarily.

Coventry City are pushing hard to land Mykhailo Mudryk on loan. According to Teamtalk, Frank Lampard’s side see themselves as “serious contenders” to secure the Ukrainian’s signature, with Chelsea exploring loan options to guarantee him regular minutes after he was cleared to play this season.

Chelsea’s stance is nuanced. They would prefer Mudryk to remain in the Premier League, a factor that could strengthen Coventry’s hand in negotiations. The club still view him as part of their long-term project, yet believe a season away, with consistent game time, could be crucial to unlocking his potential.

So Mudryk is not being discarded. He is being recalibrated.

Leao offered as potential bargain opportunity

While two wingers hover near the exit, another could be walking through the door.

Chelsea have reportedly been offered the chance to sign AC Milan star Rafael Leao. Gazzetta dello Sport claims the Portugal international’s representatives have reached out to the Blues to explore a possible move, with Roma among the other clubs contacted this summer.

The numbers are striking. An offer in the region of £34m is said to be enough to tempt Milan into a deal for the 27-year-old, who joined the Serie A side from Lille in 2019. For a player of his profile and pedigree, that figure sits well below the eye-watering sums quoted elsewhere in this window.

If Chelsea choose to act, Leao could become one of the more opportunistic deals of the summer.

Alex Scott on radar as Enzo contingency

Behind the forward line, Chelsea are also preparing for a scenario they hope not to face.

Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott remains firmly on their radar, but only if Enzo Fernandez leaves before deadline day. Chelsea recently laid down an unofficial marker to Manchester City: they would be willing to sell Fernandez for £120m, but City had until last Friday to make their move.

No official bid arrived. The interest, though, has not disappeared.

Chelsea, anticipating that situation could reignite late in the window, made a move of their own. A £64m offer for Scott was rejected by Bournemouth last month, with sources around the south-coast club insisting the 20-year-old is not for sale this summer.

For now, it leaves Chelsea in a holding pattern: Enzo still in blue, Scott still in red and black, and the clock ticking.

One thing is clear. As the deadline looms, Chelsea’s squad is far from settled – and the next phone call could reshape their season.
