According to media figure Ahmed Shobier, Konyaspor have cranked up their pursuit of the Al-Ahly midfielder, raising their offer to 4 million and 250 thousand dollars after earlier, lower bids during the summer window. The Turkish side, he said, see this as their final push to get the deal done.

Al-Ahly, though, are adamant: no official offer has arrived.

Speaking on his radio programme, Shobier relayed the stance from inside the Red Castle. The board insist nothing has landed in their official channels and suspect someone is trying to manufacture a crisis around Ashour, stir up noise, and unsettle the dressing room at a delicate moment in their season planning.
