Endrick Confirms Staying at Real Madrid for 2025-26 Despite Aston Villa Interest

Endrick has made it clear he will remain with Real Madrid for the 2025-26 season, despite interest from Aston Villa in the Premier League. This decision followed a meeting with head coach Jose Mourinho, who has plans to give the young Brazilian more playing time.

According to The Athletic, the choice for Endrick to stay at Real Madrid was a joint one involving the player, the club’s leadership, and Mourinho. Even though several European clubs have shown strong interest due to Endrick’s limited minutes on the pitch, all parties believe staying put is best for his development.

Aston Villa has been a notable admirer of the 20-year-old since his arrival in Europe, closely tracking his progress over the summer transfer window.

Mourinho’s Tactical Plans for Endrick

Mourinho intends to use Endrick primarily on the right wing during the upcoming campaign. The manager views neither midfielder Federico Valverde nor new signing Bernardo Silva as long-term options for that position. By deploying Endrick on the flank, Mourinho aims to create a more balanced attack, adding natural width and allowing the front three to rotate fluidly throughout matches.

Besides his role on the wing, Endrick will also serve as the main backup striker behind star forward Kylian Mbappe, sharing this responsibility with new addition Carlos Espi. This versatility ensures Endrick remains an important part of the squad rotation in both La Liga and Champions League games.

Tracking Endrick’s Progress Since Joining Madrid

Endrick joined Real Madrid from Palmeiras in July 2024 for €35 million upfront plus €25 million in add-ons. His career at Madrid has been under close watch, with 40 appearances so far and seven goals scored despite limited playing time.
