Harry Kane to Receive Second European Golden Shoe After Record Bundesliga Season

Harry Kane, the Bayern Munich striker, is scheduled to receive his second European Golden Shoe on August 19 following an outstanding 2025-26 Bundesliga season. The England captain dominated Europe's top leagues with his goal-scoring prowess, confirming his place as one of football's most prolific finishers.

Kane Outshines Haaland and Mbappe

The striker ended the Bundesliga campaign with an impressive 36 goals, earning 72 points in the Golden Shoe rankings. This achievement placed him ahead of competitors like Manchester City's Erling Haaland and Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappe, the previous award winner from the 2024-25 season. This marks Kane's second time winning the European Golden Shoe, having first claimed it in the 2023-24 season. Over the course of all competitions during the 2025–26 season, Kane set a record by scoring 61 goals for Bayern Munich.

Bundesliga Leadership Praises Kane's Consistency

Marc Lenz, Bundesliga's managing director, highlighted Kane's impact:

"Harry Kane has been shaping the Bundesliga and international football for years with performances at an outstanding level. With 36 goals in the Bundesliga last season, he once again demonstrated his exceptional quality and goalscoring instinct. Winning the Golden Shoe for a second time is an extraordinary achievement and underlines his consistency at world-class level."

Bundesliga Continues to Host Europe’s Elite Strikers

Alongside Kane, two other Bundesliga players made the list of Europe's top scorers. Deniz Undav from VfB Stuttgart ranked ninth, and Borussia Dortmund's Serhou Guirassy took the 13th spot. Kane's success confirms the Bundesliga as a prime league for Europe’s best goal scorers, continuing a tradition set by legends like Gerd Muller and Robert Lewandowski, who also won the Golden Shoe while playing in Germany.

Future Looks Bright for Kane and Bayern

As Kane prepares to accept his award, discussions about his future with Bayern Munich are underway. The club aims to extend their partnership with Kane through a new three-year contract, which would keep him at the club until just before he turns 36. Both parties seem eager to continue building on this successful relationship.
