Karim Adeyemi Awaits His Camp Nou Debut

Karim Adeyemi will have to wait for his Camp Nou moment.

The former Borussia Dortmund winger, who completed his move to FC Barcelona last week, has not yet been unveiled on the pitch in front of supporters – a ritual that has long been part of the club’s identity.

This time, the stage stayed empty.

The delay has nothing to do with paperwork or fitness issues. It comes down to the World Cup final. With Spain edging Argentina 1-0 after extra time yesterday, Barcelona’s top brass had their attention – and their seats – in the stands, not in the director’s box at home.

Barça president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco both travelled to the showpiece and are not expected back in the city until Tuesday. Without them, there would be no grand presentation, no photos in front of the stands, no first touch of the ball in front of the cameras.

So Adeyemi waits.

The plan now is clear: the 24-year-old is scheduled to be presented to the press and fans on Wednesday, 22 July, at the Catalan club’s stadium. That will be his first real introduction to the Barça crowd, the moment when the shirt stops being just an announcement graphic and becomes something he wears in front of thousands.

It was supposed to happen sooner. Barcelona’s original roadmap was to wrap up the transfer before the weekend, allowing Adeyemi to step straight into training under Hansi Flick. Early integration, early understanding, early chemistry.

The calendar said yes. Football’s biggest final said no.

Once Laporta and Deco are back in Barcelona, the spotlight will swing firmly to Adeyemi. The contract is signed, the move is done. All that’s missing now is the roar of Camp Nou and the first sprint down that left flank in Blaugrana.
