LaLiga 2026-27 Schedule Released: Season Kicks Off August 15, Clásico Set for October 25

The full calendar for the 2026-27 LaLiga season has been revealed, with 380 matches slated from August 15 through May 30. The opening fixtures see Barcelona defending their title against Athletic Bilbao, while Real Madrid, coached by Mourinho, start at home versus Real Sociedad.

Early Season Highlights and Adjustments

Matches involving clubs with players who reached the World Cup semifinals or final are scheduled midweek on August 25, 26, or 27. This includes Barcelona vs Athletic, Real Madrid vs Real Sociedad, Atlético Madrid vs Málaga, and Valencia vs Betis. Newly promoted teams Racing, Deportivo, and Málaga begin their campaigns against Villarreal, Elche, and Atlético Madrid respectively.

Villarreal, Málaga, and Real Sociedad will start away due to stadium renovations, local events, or security concerns.

Key Dates and Special Matches

The Madrid derby arrives early this season, with Atlético hosting Real Madrid on September 20 and the return fixture set for April 4. The first Clásico takes place on October 25 at Camp Nou, followed by the reverse match at the Bernabéu on May 9.

The schedule was crafted jointly by the federation, LaLiga, and Liga F, using over 400 constraints to prevent clashes across competitions. Notably, Valencia will play their final match at Mestalla this season, hosting Elche in a farewell game.

Season Breaks and International Windows

There will be no league games during Christmas, as the competition pauses from December 22 until January 2. Other breaks align with international windows spanning September 21 to October 6, November 9 to 17, and March 22 to 30. Only two midweek rounds are planned, occurring on matchdays 6 and 33.
