Manchester United Confirms Bruno Fernandes Will Stay as Carrick Builds Team

Manchester United have drawn a thick red line through Bruno Fernandes’ name on this summer’s potential departures list. Galatasaray can look, they can talk, they can dream – but for now, they cannot touch.

Reports in Turkey had lit a small fire. Journalist Suleyman Rodop claimed Galatasaray were eyeing Fernandes as the marquee number 10 in a rebuild that also targets a winger and a striker. The figures were bold: a €50 million asking price and a net salary demand of €20 million a year for the Portugal international.

United’s response has been just as clear. Not happening.

Carrick’s catalyst

Fernandes has just come off a season that reminded everyone why United built their attack around him in the first place.

Ruben Amorim spent the first half of the campaign experimenting, using Fernandes in a deeper midfield role. It dulled some of his edge in the final third, even if his work rate and influence never really disappeared.

That is why the message being briefed is so uncompromising. It would take a “mammoth offer” to prise him away. Those close to the situation describe the chances of him leaving this summer as “very, very slim”. Any bid that falls short of a record-level valuation is not even expected to start a conversation.

In other words, Galatasaray can talk numbers all they like. United are not playing.

Carrick, for his part, is “delighted” to be working with Fernandes and expects him to be a key figure again next season. The manager wants him at the centre of a side that presses higher, plays quicker, and carries itself like a team that believes it belongs back among the elite.

So the rumours swirl, as they always do in summer. But on this one, United’s stance is blunt, and Fernandes is aligned with it. He is not on the market, he is not pushing for the exit, and he is positioning himself for an even bigger role as the club chases the one thing missing from his Old Trafford story: a Premier League title challenge that truly goes the distance.
