NWSL Power Rankings: Utah Royals and North Carolina Courage Score Big, Gotham FC Keeps Lead

The National Women's Soccer League saw some surprising results in Week 15 as the Utah Royals fired five goals past the Portland Thorns, while the North Carolina Courage dominated Orlando Pride with a 5-0 victory. Despite injuries, Gotham FC managed to hold onto the top spot after key wins this week.

Midweek matches stirred up the rankings again, particularly for the Kansas City Current, who scored five goals against Racing Louisville but later settled for a 1-1 draw with Angel City. Meanwhile, Washington Spirit showed they remain one of the league's strongest teams with a tight 1-0 win over Utah, despite losing to San Diego Wave on Sunday.

Trinity Rodman is gaining momentum in the Golden Boot race with eight goals, though Barbra Banda of Orlando still leads with 12 despite her absence due to international duty at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The week featured plenty of goals, with Utah bouncing back impressively after their loss to Washington by overwhelming Portland 5-1. North Carolina’s crushing 5-0 win against Orlando also made waves. Even with a growing injury list including season-ending knee injury to Emily Sonnett, Gotham FC found ways to win close games, narrowly defeating Bay FC 1-0 and edging out Houston Dash thanks to Sam Kerr’s impact.
