Serie A Transfer Updates: Juventus Seek Goalkeeper, Milan's Exclusions, Inter's Stability

While Leandro Paredes digests a 10‑match FIFA ban and Serie A edges toward opening weekend, the transfer market is hitting that wild, breathless stretch where every phone call can flip a season.

Juventus circle Musso as goalkeeper dominoes fall

Juventus are bracing for a reshuffle in goal. With Michele Di Gregorio close to Bournemouth and Mattia Perin seemingly on his way to Palermo, the club need a new backup behind Guglielmo Vicario.

Juan Musso is firmly on their radar, according to Tuttosport. The Atletico Madrid goalkeeper fits the profile: experienced, reliable, used to high‑pressure environments.

But Juve are not alone. Napoli have surged to the front of the queue. As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the player has already given preference to the Partenopei, who are working on a swap deal that would see Vanja Milinkovic‑Savic move one way and Musso the other. If that deal lands, Juventus will be forced back to the drawing board with the season about to start.

Milan’s silent break: four players left without numbers

At Milan, the message is not coming through a press conference or a statement. It’s on the squad list.

The club have officially announced shirt numbers for the new campaign. Four names are missing: Fikayo Tomori, Fofana, Gimenez and Nkunku. No numbers, no place in the project, and the league kicks off this weekend.

The exclusions had already leaked in recent days, but the publication of the list makes the break definitive. With no squad numbers assigned, their departures now look like a matter of “when” rather than “if.” Milan’s rebuild is moving on without them.

Inter: Pavard convincing, Bovio renewed but on watch

At Inter, the tone is very different: continuity, not rupture.

Benjamin Pavard looks increasingly likely to stay. Technically, he is hitting all the right notes. Chivu underlined that in his press conference: “He's doing a great job, he has made himself available to the group. He has played matches at a certain level.” Those are not the words of a coach preparing to lose a defender.

Behind the scenes, the club have also tied down Bovio. His contract renewal is done, and, according to Fabrizio Romano, he is expected to remain with the Nerazzurri. Yet nothing is completely closed in the final hours of a window. Inter will reassess Bovio’s situation late on if an unexpected opportunity appears. For now, though, both Pavard and Bovio are part of the plan.

Napoli close Obaretin deal with future upside

Napoli, busy fighting Juventus for Musso, have already sealed another move.

As reported by Alfredo Pedullà and Fabrizio Romano, the club have completed the transfer of Obaretin to Lorient. The defender had attracted interest from Sturm Graz and was previously linked with Genoa in July, but Napoli have now agreed terms with the French side.

The deal is a loan with an option to buy set at €3.5 million, plus a percentage on any future resale. It’s the kind of structure that keeps Napoli protected while giving the player a clear path to minutes abroad.

Roma hit financial wall on Fofana and Luis Henrique

Roma’s market, by contrast, is running into hard numbers.

According to Il Tempo, the Giallorossi came very close to landing Fofana. The package on the table: €35 million plus bonuses. Then the ownership stepped in and blocked the move, wary of the immediate financial outlay after the investment in Rodrigo Mora and mindful of the club’s broader economic situation.

The same constraints weigh on another target. Il Messaggero reports that Roma like Luis Henrique, but there is still no agreement on how to structure a deal. The will is there, the finances are not. For now, at least.

Lazio back Mandas as No. 1

Lazio have made a clear choice in goal.

With Ivan Provedel gone, Corriere dello Sport writes that the club intend to trust Mandas as their first-choice goalkeeper. That decision cools the talk of a move to Juventus, where he was admired as a potential backup to Vicario.

The Biancocelesti are closing ranks around their new No. 1 instead of cashing in. For Mandas, it is a huge show of faith; for Juventus, another door quietly shuts.

Fiorentina weigh Kean sale against upgrade promise

In Florence, everything hinges on Moise Kean.

Fiorentina are considering selling the forward to Como, as reported by FirenzeViola. But there is a firm condition attached: he leaves only if a suitable replacement is found.

Fabio Paratici’s stance is uncompromising. He does not want a striker of a lower level than Kean. The idea is to raise the bar, not lower it, just as Fiorentina have tried to do in other areas of the squad this summer.

So the clock ticks. Kean waits. Fiorentina scan the market for a forward who doesn’t just fill a gap, but lifts the ceiling. With the season about to ignite, who blinks first?
