West Bromwich Albion Sign Midfielder Rabby Nzingoula from Strasbourg

West Bromwich Albion have dipped back into the European market, landing highly rated midfielder Rabby Nzingoula from Ligue 1 side Strasbourg on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

At 20, Nzingoula arrives as part of a clear reset at The Hawthorns. He is the club’s seventh signing of the summer, joining Matt Ingram, Conor Townsend, Nolan Galves, Felix Horn Myhre, Barney Stewart and Jimmy-Jay Morgan in a rapidly rebuilt squad.

This is not a punt on potential alone. Nzingoula has already felt the pace of senior football in France and Germany. He made 15 first-team appearances for Strasbourg, including outings in the Europa Conference League, and has taken in loan spells with Montpellier and Nuremberg, learning his trade in two contrasting football cultures.

What Drew Him to the Championship?

The intensity.

“From the games I have seen, it's clear to see it's a very good, physical and demanding division,” he told the club’s website. “It's a really good league and a really tough one too. It has a lot of high intensity, and I think that fits perfectly with my style of play.”

West Brom will expect exactly that: energy, bite, and the ability to live in the chaos of a league that rarely pauses for breath.

Nzingoula also made it clear he has one eye firmly on the man in the dugout. James Morrison, now head coach, is a central figure in the club’s modern history, a midfielder who played more than 300 games for Albion and set the standard in that role for over a decade.

“There are a lot of players with talent here at the club and the head coach (James Morrison) has so much playing experience,” Nzingoula said. “I know that he played over 300 games here and I know he was a very good midfielder, so I really believe he can help me and develop me into a much better player.”

For Morrison, it is another young, hungry piece in a squad being reshaped in his own image. For Nzingoula, it is a leap into one of Europe’s most unforgiving divisions, under a manager who knows exactly what it takes to survive and thrive in West Brom’s colours.
