Yan Diomande Stays Committed to PSG Amid Premier League Interest

Paris Saint-Germain are closing in on one of the most coveted young attackers in Europe – and they are doing it with the Premier League’s elite still banging on the door.

Over the past week, representatives for Yan Diomande have taken fresh calls from Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City. The answer has not changed. The 19-year-old winger remains committed to joining PSG.

PSG turn the screw

The race is not officially over, but the direction of travel is clear. PSG are driving hard to finish the deal and club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has stepped in personally to lead negotiations with Red Bull over Diomande’s move from Leipzig.

His long-standing relationship with the Red Bull hierarchy has helped clear the path. Talks have accelerated, and sources close to the discussions believe an agreement is now close.

Inside Leipzig, the mood has shifted. The Bundesliga club have already accepted that Diomande is moving towards Paris. Earlier this month, they even explored a compromise: sell him now, keep him on loan for another season. It did not land.

The size of that commitment has not scared off England’s heavyweights. It has provoked them.

Manchester City have also come back to the table. With Savinho expected to complete his move to Tottenham Hotspur, City are still hunting for another wide attacker and have made it clear they would be ready to act quickly if Diomande’s stance on PSG softened.

The response has been blunt. All three Premier League clubs have been told the same thing: the player’s focus is fixed on the Parc des Princes.

No auction, no bluff

One suspicion always lingers in these situations – that a selling club might use late Premier League interest to drive up the fee. Those close to the talks insist that is not the game here.

Red Bull are not leveraging Liverpool, Arsenal or City to inflate Diomande’s price. Negotiations with PSG are being handled on their own track, separate from the English interest.

Both PSG and Leipzig are also across a delicate subplot: Diomande’s recent change of representation. The switch of agents has triggered ongoing discussions around elements of his image rights. Those details are still being ironed out, but the expectation among all parties is that they will not derail the transfer.
