Nations Out of the 2026 World Cup After Group and Round of 32
Following the group stage, 20 teams have exited the 2026 World Cup. Among the first 16 to leave, 12 ended their campaigns at the bottom of their groups.
These countries are Czech Republic, Qatar, Haiti, Turkey, Curacao, Tunisia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Jordan, Uzbekistan, and Panama. They all placed fourth in their respective groups.
Additionally, four teams finished third but had the worst records among third-placed sides, resulting in their elimination: Iran, South Korea, Scotland, and Uruguay.
Knockout Stage Exits
The round of 32 saw the departure of South Africa, Japan, Germany, and Netherlands. Notably, four-time World Cup champions Germany were ousted after a penalty shootout loss to Paraguay on Monday.
