Al-Ittihad Pursues Hakim Ziyech Amidst Wydad Crisis
Al-Ittihad have made their move for Hakim Ziyech, sensing opportunity in the middle of a full-blown crisis between the Moroccan star and Wydad that has left his future hanging in the balance.
According to "Africa Foot", the Libyan club have put a substantial financial package on the table, designed to tempt Ziyech into a swift agreement. The offer is described as attractive, and Al-Ittihad are prepared to act quickly if they receive any hint of green light from the player’s camp.
Nothing is agreed. Not yet.
Talks between Ziyech and Wydad over his contractual situation are still dragging on, with no breakthrough in sight. The relationship has deteriorated sharply in recent weeks, strained by a cocktail of financial, sporting and disciplinary disputes. Several meetings have been held. None have bridged the gap.
The tension burst into public view when Ziyech took to social media and openly accused Wydad president Ibrahim El Assri of lying, a move that pushed the standoff from boardroom to spotlight and deepened the rift.
Wydad are keen to close the chapter and restore some calm. Ziyech, for his part, is standing firm and demanding what he believes he is owed. The same source reports that if no agreement is reached, he is ready to escalate and take his case to FIFA.
With Al-Ittihad circling and the conflict with Wydad hardening rather than softening, the next decision Ziyech makes may define the next phase of his career.
