Amorim Surprises with Midfield Changes for Lazio Match

Rúben Amorim has sprung a late surprise for Milan’s trip to Lazio, with Sky Sport Italia reporting that Yunus Musah has been dropped to the bench and Adrien Rabiot drafted into central midfield.

Musah had been widely expected to line up alongside Luka Modric in a two-man engine room. Instead, Rabiot will anchor the middle, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek is pushed higher up the pitch as the attacking midfielder.

The tweak reshapes Milan’s spine. Loftus-Cheek, who has often operated between the lines for the Rossoneri, will be asked to connect midfield and attack from the start at the Stadio Olimpico, adding physical presence and late runs into the box behind lone striker Gonçalo Ramos.

Around them, the rest of the XI stays intact. Pervis Estupiñan keeps his place at left wing-back, offering width and thrust on that flank, with Samuel Chukwueze restored on the opposite side to provide direct running and one-on-one threat.

Italy prospect Alphadjo Cissé joins Loftus-Cheek as the other attacking midfielder, giving Milan a second creative outlet behind Ramos and hinting at an aggressive, front-foot approach from Amorim despite the reshuffle.

Christian Pulisic must wait a little longer for a starting berth. The American begins on the bench again, though Amorim has already made it clear he intends to give Pulisic his first minutes of the season in Rome.

A late change, a bold midfield call, and plenty of firepower waiting in reserve. Amorim has nailed his colours to the mast; now Milan have to justify the gamble under the lights against Lazio.
