Arsenal has been told they must meet a staggering £137 million price tag if they want to bring Real Madrid's forward, Vinicius Junior, to the Emirates this summer. Rumors sparked excitement among Arsenal fans when reports surfaced about a potential move for the Brazilian winger.

No formal talks between clubs have taken place yet, and Arsenal hasn’t received confirmation from Vinicius's representatives. Still, the plan appears to be endorsed at all levels within the North London club.

Vinicius is entering the final year of his contract with Real Madrid, who remain hopeful about securing an extension. The player also seems inclined to agree to new terms. Yet, if negotiations fall through, Arsenal is reportedly best placed to swoop in and entice the 26-year-old away from the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid Sets High Price Despite Contract Situation

According to reports from SPORT cited by The Mirror, Los Blancos demand £137 million to even consider selling Vinicius. This amount would shatter the Premier League’s transfer record, exceeding Liverpool’s £125 million fee for Alexander Isak last year.

Moreover, this figure might only be the starting point; Real Madrid could push the asking price higher. Manager Jose Mourinho is said to oppose selling Vinicius specifically to Arsenal, though the Spanish giants acknowledge the London club can afford the deal — but only if they offload players first.

Upcoming Contract Discussions and Player Performance

Contract talks between Real Madrid and Vinicius are expected at the end of July. The club hasn’t ruled out extending his deal later into the season if no agreement is reached now. Last season, Vinicius scored 22 goals and provided 14 assists over 53 appearances. He also contributed four goals and one assist in five matches during the 2026 World Cup for Brazil.

Who Could Arsenal Sell to Fund the Signing?

This summer, Arsenal already operates at a net transfer loss, having spent around £69 million on Piero Hincapie and Christos Tzolis while recouping about £32 million from sales including Jakub Kiwior, Karl Hein, and Leandro Trossard.
