Arsenal are understood to be aware of those hurdles and ready to help smooth the process if they can get Álvarez on board.

The Gunners are also prepared to get creative on the contract side. One proposal under discussion is a so‑called “Barcelona clause” in any agreement, a mechanism that could allow Álvarez to join Barça in the future if the right conditions are met.
