Arsenal Pursue Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa
Arsenal have stepped up their pursuit of Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa, with confidence growing behind the scenes that a deal can still be struck for the England international.
Konsa has emerged as Arsenal’s leading defensive target, the player they want to anchor the next phase of their back line. Talks with Villa have been ongoing, and there is a sense within the negotiations that an agreement for a move to Emirates Stadium is possible.
One problem refuses to budge: the price. Villa value Konsa at around £60m, a figure the Premier League champions have not yet been willing to meet. Arsenal reopened discussions with Villa last week, as first revealed by BBC Sport, but their latest approach again fell short of that valuation.
The London club then appeared to shift their attention towards Bayer Leverkusen’s Jarrell Quansah, sounding out an alternative route as the Konsa talks stalled.
Even so, Arsenal’s focus has swung back to Konsa. He remains the priority. The question now is simple: will they go high enough to finally move Villa’s stance?
