Arsenal Considers Marcus Rashford as Replacement for Gabriel Martinelli

Arsenal are weighing up a bold move to replace Gabriel Martinelli with Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, according to the UK Telegraph.

Martinelli is on the brink of a club-record exit from the Emirates, with the Brazil winger expected to join Al Hilal for a fee in excess of £50 million. He has reportedly given the green light to the Saudi Pro League switch after previously turning down interest from Galatasaray.

The timing has raised eyebrows inside the club. The report notes “some internal surprise” at Arsenal sanctioning Martinelli’s departure before securing a replacement for the left-sided role.

Now the Premier League champions are set to turn their attention to Rashford, with a loan move under consideration rather than a permanent deal.

Rashford, still on United’s books, has spent the last two seasons out on loan at Aston Villa and Barcelona, and could be handed a fresh start in north London if Arsenal decide he is the man to fill the void left by Martinelli.
