Arsenal Pursue Yan Diomande After Missing Out on Morgan Rogers

After missing out on Morgan Rogers, who has joined Chelsea, Arsenal quickly started looking at other attacking options. The Gunners want to add pace and creativity to their frontline under Mikel Arteta, so they have now set sights on Yan Diomande, a versatile winger from RB Leipzig.

Early Interest in RB Leipzig’s Rising Star

Journalist Ben Jacobs reports that Arsenal have made an exploratory enquiry about Diomande, though talks are still very preliminary and no formal negotiations are happening yet. Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain seem far ahead in the race, having already agreed on a five-year contract with the Ivory Coast international.

Leipzig hopes Diomande will either sign a new deal or stay for another season but values him around 30 million (36 million). Diomande, who is just 19, can play anywhere across the front line but prefers the right wing, where he expects more game time.

Challenges Ahead for Arsenal

From Arsenal’s point of view, this feels more like a check-in rather than a serious transfer battle. PSG’s agreement with the player is the biggest hurdle; convincing Diomande to change his mind would be tough. Also, his preference for the right wing clashes with Arsenal’s immediate need, which seems stronger on the left side after missing out on Rogers.

Still, the Gunners shouldn’t dismiss Diomande’s talent. Leipzig’s sporting director Marcel Schafer once described him as "outstanding speed, good dribbling, very athletic, and a finisher." Yet all signs indicate that Paris is the favored destination.

Unless PSG’s deal unexpectedly falls through or the player has a sudden change of heart, Arsenal might find it more practical to focus on left-sided targets that fit Arteta’s system better.
