Aston Villa Bring Alejandro Garnacho on Loan from Chelsea
Aston Villa have secured the services of Argentinian winger Alejandro Garnacho on a loan deal lasting for the current season. This arrangement includes a conditional obligation that could make the transfer permanent by next summer, as confirmed by both Premier League clubs on Thursday.
“We are delighted with Alejandro. He is so talented, young and he showed us his wish to help our project. We are really happy,” said Unai Emery in an official club statement.
At 22 years old, Garnacho joins Villa following a challenging period at Chelsea. After transferring for £40 million from Manchester United last year, he struggled to cement a regular spot in the starting lineup. Over the past season, he made 43 appearances in all competitions and scored eight goals.
Garnacho's departure from United came after five years at Old Trafford, where he tallied 26 goals in 144 games. His time there ended after falling out of favor with former head coach Ruben Amorim.
The winger came through the youth ranks at Atletico Madrid and was named in Argentina’s initial 55-man squad for the World Cup but did not make the final team selection.
