Borussia Dortmund Eye Ibrahim Mbaye from PSG
Borussia Dortmund have set their sights on one of Paris Saint-Germain’s brightest young forwards, opening talks over a possible move for Ibrahim Mbaye, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Bundesliga club have made contact to explore the 18-year-old’s situation at PSG, sounding out the conditions of a deal and testing the French champions’ resolve over a player they have tied down until 2028. It is an early step, but a deliberate one: Dortmund are clearly in the market for fresh attacking spark.
Mbaye is not short of admirers. The winger has already been linked with a switch to the Premier League, with Aston Villa among the clubs credited with interest in the teenager. Any move for him will unfold against that backdrop of competition, and with PSG holding a long contract as leverage.
For an 18-year-old, Mbaye already owns a meaningful body of first-team experience. He has made 42 appearances for PSG, producing four goals and four assists. Those numbers do not yet scream superstardom, but they hint at a player trusted enough to feature regularly in one of Europe’s most demanding squads.
This is exactly the profile Dortmund have so often backed: young, talented, with top-level exposure but still some way from his ceiling. The question now is whether the Black and Yellows can turn initial contact into a concrete proposal, and whether PSG are prepared to loosen their grip on another of their emerging attackers.
