Bournemouth Sign Michele Di Gregorio on Loan from Juventus

Bournemouth have secured Michele Di Gregorio from Juventus on a paid loan that underlines both clubs’ intent – and Juventus’ radical reshaping of their goalkeeping department.

The 27-year-old Italian joins on a one-year deal for €1.3m, with the fee rising by up to €800,000 if performance-related bonuses are hit. Bournemouth also hold an option to buy for €12.7m, spread across three financial years, with a further €1.5m possible in add-ons.

It is a structure that gives the Premier League side room to manoeuvre and Juventus a clear exit route if the move becomes permanent.

“Michele is a goalkeeper with excellent qualities and valuable experience at the highest level,” said Bournemouth director Tiago Pinto as the move was confirmed on Tuesday morning. “He has consistently demonstrated his ability in Serie A and in European competitions, and we believe he will be an excellent addition to our squad.”

Those “highest levels” are not an exaggeration. Di Gregorio arrives in England after two seasons in Turin, where he played 84 games for Juventus, conceding 84 goals and collecting 36 clean sheets. A neat symmetry in the numbers, and a record that underlines why Bournemouth were prepared to commit to a deal that could climb towards the €15m mark.

He featured in Serie A and the UEFA Champions League, including high-pressure nights such as the 2025/26 League Phase clash against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, where he shared a post-match embrace with teammate Federico Gatti on the pitch – a snapshot of a keeper trusted on big European stages.

For Juventus, this is not an isolated move but part of a sweeping reset in goal. The Serie A giants have already sent long-serving deputy Mattia Perin to Serie B side Palermo, a decision that clears even more space in a position that once looked overstocked.
