Bradley Barcola Joins Liverpool: A New Era Begins

Bradley Barcola has completed his move to Liverpool, signing a long-term deal at the AXA Training Centre after passing his medical and finalising the transfer.

The French forward, who will wear the No.29 shirt, spoke of the scale of the step in his career and the weight of the shirt he is about to pull on.

"It's a great pride to be able to play for Liverpool. I'm very happy," he told Liverpoolfc.com. "It took a long time but I'm really happy today to be able to play for Liverpool and all I want is to be on the pitch and be able to play.

"I hope to achieve very big things. First of all, winning the Premier League – it's one of my biggest dreams in my life.

"It is to do that and to stay in this team in the long term – that's why I signed a long contract – and I hope I can do it."

A proven winner arrives

Barcola lands on Merseyside with serious pedigree and the kind of versatility managers crave. Comfortable across the entire front line, he comes off a three-year spell with PSG in which he established himself as one of Europe’s most productive wide forwards.

In 152 appearances for the Parisian club, he scored 39 goals and supplied 35 assists, numbers that underline both his finishing touch and creative edge. His time at Parc des Princes was laden with silverware too: back-to-back Champions League titles and three consecutive Ligue 1 crowns marked him out as a player used to the sharp end of elite competition.

Before Paris, Barcola’s rise began at Olympique Lyonnais, where he made his senior debut in November 2021. He went on to record seven goals and 11 assists in 47 games for Lyon, form that earned him his move to PSG in August 2023 and set him on a rapid upward trajectory.

Making his mark with France

The 21-year-old’s impact has not been limited to club football. Since his France debut in June 2024, Barcola has already collected 28 caps and scored six times for his country.

Three of those goals came at this summer’s World Cup, where he featured in every match of France’s run to a fourth-placed finish. On the biggest stage, under the brightest lights, he delivered.

Now he walks into Anfield with a long contract, a coveted shirt number, and a clear target: help drag Liverpool back to the top of the Premier League and stay there long enough to build an era around it.
