Those words land at a club in flux. New faces keep walking through the door, and Alonso has no time to waste.

Alonso moves quickly

With the new season closing in, Alonso has already thrown Chavarria into tactical drills at Cobham. There is no gentle easing-in period here. Chelsea want him up to speed fast.

One of the big selling points is his durability. The left-back played 44 games in all competitions for Rayo last season, a workload that speaks to both fitness and consistency.
