Colin Dagba Joins Carrarese Calcio After Leaving Belgium

Former Paris Saint-Germain full-back Colin Dagba has taken an unexpected step by signing with Italian Serie B team Carrarese Calcio. The 27-year-old defender recently left Belgian club Beerschot and has now committed to Carrarese until June 2028, hoping to regain momentum in his career.

New Beginnings in Italy

Dagba joined Carrarese on a free transfer after his contract with Beerschot ended on July 1. The deal includes an option to extend automatically if he hits certain performance goals. This move marks a fresh start for the former France Under-21 international in Italy's second division.

Club Praises Defensive and Offensive Skills

Carrarese released a statement highlighting Dagba's versatility and technique, emphasizing his strong attacking skills, speed, and ability to contribute offensively. They also noted his defensive qualities, particularly his alertness and consistency when marking opponents.

Career Highlights at Paris Saint-Germain

During his time at PSG, Dagba made 77 appearances across all competitions, including seven Champions League matches. He won three Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe de France trophies, and two Trophee des Champions with the club. Loan spells at Strasbourg and Auxerre followed before his move abroad.

Upcoming Challenge: Empoli Test

Carrarese currently sits 14th in Serie B, having collected just one point from their first two games. Dagba could make his debut in their next fixture at home against Empoli on September 5. This match offers a key chance for Carrarese to find form and secure their first league win of the season.
