Court McGee Opens Up About Choosing UFC 332 as His Final MMA Fight

Veteran UFC welterweight Court McGee has shared why he plans to retire after his fight at UFC 332. The Utah native, who entered the UFC in 2010 after winning Season 11 of "The Ultimate Fighter," faces Eric Nolan in the opening preliminary bout on Saturday's UFC 332 event at Delta Center, Salt Lake City.

Though fans already knew McGee intended to retire following this fight, he recently explained the motivation behind that choice in detail.

McGee Discusses His Retirement Decision

"Yeah, it's a retirement fight, but I knew it a couple of years ago when I signed this four-fight deal, so I knew it was coming to an end, and I felt confident with it. Before that, with the neck injury, I thought I was done and I was going to leave a fight on the table, and after fulfilling that last one, I hadn’t felt that good in years. I feel really good. I feel really healthy, but I’m 41 and I’ll be turning 42 this year. Like they say, it’s a young man’s sport, and I want to make sure I have my wits about me when I’m done. I have three kids; I’m married. I have a gym. There’s a lot of life ahead of me after 40. I feel good about my decision. I made that decision with those who are close to me, and I’m OK with it. I’ve made peace with it,"

Matchup and Betting Odds for UFC 332

Heading into UFC 332, McGee is considered a +190 underdog while his opponent Eric Nolan holds a -225 favorite status. Despite Nolan’s 0-2 UFC record, his youth, durability, and knockout power give him an edge over McGee.

On the other hand, McGee’s stamina and wrestling ability could keep the fight competitive, creating an interesting dynamic between experience and raw power. Fans are expected to rally behind McGee as he takes his final step inside the octagon.
