Crystal Palace Sign Axel Disasi on Loan from Chelsea
Crystal Palace have moved to strengthen their back line by bringing in France international Axel Disasi on loan from Chelsea, the clubs confirmed on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old centre back arrives at Selhurst Park after a stop-start spell at Stamford Bridge, where he made 61 appearances following his move from Monaco in 2023. Chelsea have reshaped their defensive options again this summer, and Disasi becomes the latest high-profile name to seek regular minutes elsewhere in the Premier League.
He is no stranger to London. Disasi spent last season on loan at West Ham United, featuring 14 times in the league and offering a glimpse of the physical presence and front-foot defending that first drew Chelsea to him.
"I'm very happy. The club has been going in a very good direction, so I think it was the right place for me to keep going," Disasi said in a statement, pointing to Palace’s recent progress as a key part of his decision.
For Palace, it is a move that brings top-level experience into the dressing room. Disasi was part of the France squad that reached the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar, training and competing alongside some of the game’s elite on the biggest stage.
Now he steps into a different kind of pressure: the weekly grind of the Premier League, in a team intent on pushing higher up the table.
