Rangers’ rising coach Danny Rohl has landed on the radar of one of Europe’s most admired clubs – but, for now, the noise around him is louder than the danger.

Bayer Leverkusen, fresh from building one of the continent’s slickest operations, are drawing up a shortlist for their next head coach. Rohl, the 37-year-old who has impressed at Rangers, is among the names under consideration, according to Bulinews.

He is not alone. Bild reports that Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner is viewed as the leading candidate, while Girona’s highly rated Michel is also in the frame. It is an elite bracket to be mentioned in, and Rohl’s inclusion underlines just how quickly his stock has risen.

Sky Germany stress that Rohl is not under threat at Ibrox. There is no suggestion of Rangers pushing him towards the exit, and a move to Wolfsburg appears unlikely, not least after their relegation from the Bundesliga. That step down would jar with the current trajectory of a coach in demand.

Union Berlin, though, and Leverkusen could carry a different kind of pull. Both are seen as more attractive destinations for a manager with modern ideas and a growing reputation, and interest in Rohl is understood to be spread across Europe. For Rangers, the challenge is clear: keep building with a coach others now covet.

McKenna shuts the door on suitors

South of the border, Kieran McKenna has taken a firmer stance on his own future.

Fresh from leading Ipswich Town back to the Premier League, McKenna is committed to staying put. Football Insider reports that he will turn down any approaches from Celtic, Crystal Palace or Fulham this summer.

Celtic’s admiration is long-standing, Palace are assessing options amid uncertainty over their own dugout, and Fulham are braced for interest in Marco Silva. McKenna, though, has decided his next chapter lies at Portman Road, guiding Ipswich into their first top-flight campaign in over two decades.

Transfer scramble for Ashia

While clubs circle managers, a cluster of British and European sides are also jostling for emerging talent.

Cameron Ashia has sparked a scramble. Celtic, Fulham and Rangers have all made initial enquiries for the winger, the Daily Mail reports. They are not alone. Burnley, Cardiff City, Hoffenheim, Ipswich Town, Sheffield United and Stuttgart have all registered an interest.

The attraction is obvious. At 21, Ashia offers potential, versatility and, crucially, value. Despite Huddersfield Town exercising an option to extend his contract by a further year, he could be available for as little as £500,000. In a market where fees for wide players routinely spiral, that figure will tempt sporting directors across several leagues.

Maeda draws Premier League attention

Celtic face questions of their own this summer, and not just about who might arrive.

Daizen Maeda has emerged as a target for a number of Premier League clubs, according to Football Insider. The 28-year-old forward, renowned for his relentless work-rate and pressing, is edging towards a move away from Glasgow.

His energy has been central to Celtic’s attacking identity, but that same intensity makes him a natural fit for English sides who demand aggression off the ball. If he goes, Brendan Rodgers will lose one of his most dependable front-line runners and will need to reshape the forward line accordingly.

Palma bid tests Celtic resolve

Another wide option could also be on the move.

Lech Poznan have tabled a cut-price £2m offer for Luis Palma following the 26-year-old’s loan spell with the Polish club, The National reports. Palma has had time to adjust to the Ekstraklasa and Poznan now want to make that stay permanent.

For Celtic, the decision is a straight one: bank a modest fee for a player who has struggled to fully nail down a starting place in Glasgow, or hold out in the hope that his value rises. At £2m, Poznan are testing both Celtic’s valuation and their patience.

Yamada returns to a changing Celtic picture

One forward is edging towards the exit; another is coming back into the fold.

Shin Yamada is on his way back to Celtic after his loan at Preussen Munster, The Herald reports. The 25-year-old striker returns at a turbulent time for the German club, with head coach Alois Schwartz planning a major overhaul following their relegation to the third tier.

That reset leaves no room for Yamada in Munster’s plans, but it reopens a door in Glasgow. With Maeda attracting interest and Palma the subject of a bid, squad places in the attacking unit could shift quickly. Yamada will rejoin a Celtic side that may look very different by the end of the window.
