Dario Osorio: Rising Chilean Star Attracting Premier League Interest
Dario Osorio has gone from promising prospect to one of the most closely watched young attackers in Europe this summer – and the queue for his signature is getting longer by the day.
The 22-year-old Chilean winger, currently at FC Midtjylland, is being tracked by a cluster of Premier League clubs, with Liverpool, Everton and Leeds United all monitoring his situation as the transfer window heads into its final stretch. AC Milan are firmly in the mix as well, with interest confirmed by sources in both Denmark and Italy, while Arsenal’s scouts have kept him on their radar since first flagging him last summer.
A rising Chilean star in Denmark
Osorio arrived in Denmark from Universidad de Chile in 2023 and has climbed quickly through the ranks at Midtjylland. He has produced 23 goals and 18 assists in 117 games, numbers that have underpinned his rise into the Chile national team, where he already has 25 caps.
His game is built on pace and aggression with the ball. A left-footed attacker who can operate on either flank, he drives at defenders, attacks space and commits opponents. Those traits have drawn inevitable comparisons with Alexis Sanchez, and inside Midtjylland there is a clear belief that they can demand a serious fee for a player viewed as ready for a bigger stage.
The Danish club value Osorio at around €20million (£17.1m / $23.4m) and are open to offers that meet that price. Lower bids have already been turned away, and there is quiet confidence in the boardroom that a tug-of-war between English and Italian sides can push the number higher.
Sale seen as “almost inevitable”
Midtjylland’s technical staff and directors have privately accepted that this could be the summer Osorio moves on. Those inside the club have indicated they expect him – and another key forward – to leave before the window closes, with a sale described as almost inevitable.
No formal bid has been accepted yet, but the volume and calibre of interest suggest that stance will be tested soon. The sense around the player is that he is ready to step into a higher level, whether that is the Premier League or Serie A.
For now, the race remains open. Liverpool’s need for wide players is no secret; they have already explored moves for Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye as they look at potentially bringing in two wingers. Everton, for their part, are pushing to add another wide option before the deadline. Jack Grealish remains on their radar, Como’s Assane Diao features on their shortlist, and Osorio has been discussed as a serious candidate.
Leeds United continue to track him, Arsenal’s long-standing admiration has not disappeared, and Milan’s interest keeps the Italian route alive. With Midtjylland willing to deal at the right price and the market entering its decisive days, Osorio stands on the brink of the biggest move of his career.
The only question left is which badge he will be wearing when the window finally slams shut.
