Dastan Satpayev Set for Championship Loan Move to Burnley
Chelsea’s teenage winger Dastan Satpayev is on the brink of a first taste of English league football, with a loan move to Championship side Burnley close to completion.
The Kazakhstan international signed a six-year contract at Chelsea, with an option for an extra season, on his 18th birthday on Wednesday. The deal, worth £3.4m, will see him officially join from Kairat FC in January 2025 after a pre-agreement was put in place.
Chelsea are wasting no time plotting his development path. Satpayev has already travelled to Turf Moor and is expected to undergo a medical ahead of Burnley’s home clash with West Ham on Sunday. If all goes to plan, he will step straight into a squad fighting to climb the Championship table, rather than settling into life quietly in an academy setup.
His move is part of another busy week of outbound traffic at Stamford Bridge. Ryan Kavuma-McQueen has joined Portsmouth on loan, Reggie Walsh has completed a switch to Wigan Athletic, and Shim Mheuka is also closing in on a temporary move away.
Chelsea’s production line keeps turning. Burnley now wait to see if Satpayev can turn promise into end product on a cold Championship afternoon.
