Djed Spence Set for Inter Debut After International Break

Djed Spence has yet to play a competitive minute for Inter, but the wait is almost over.

The English right-back, signed from Tottenham in the summer for €35 million, is expected to be available when Serie A resumes in October, with his Inter debut likely to come against Parma at San Siro on October 10.

Spence arrived in Milan with World Cup miles already in his legs. The 26-year-old played a demanding campaign with England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and Inter chose caution over risk.

According to Gazzetta, that phase is almost done. Spence will continue to train separately this week before rejoining the squad next week, as the club ramps up preparations for the league restart.

Chivu’s schedule, Spence’s window

Inter coach Cristian Chivu has handed his players a full week off during the international break, with group training for those not on national team duty set to resume on Monday.

That timing suits Spence perfectly. By then, the plan is for him to step back into full sessions with his new teammates and push for a place in the matchday squad.

If everything goes as scheduled, Spence will finally be available for selection for Inter’s first game after the break, a home clash with Parma at San Siro — the stage where the Nerazzurri expect their €35m full-back to start justifying the investment.
