“In all the opportunities that I get, and that I’ve had, I think I’ve seized a lot of those, taken on a lot of those responsibilities,” he said, backing his own impact without drifting into arrogance.

For now, his reward comes more in yellow than in blue. A recall to the Brazil squad underlines how highly he is rated back home, even if his Chelsea story is still in its early, stuttering chapters.

So he leans on faith and patience.

“I try to control what I can, leave tomorrow in God’s hands, and trust in my work.”
