Ferran Torres Joins Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona

Ferran Torres’ time at Camp Nou is over. FC Barcelona have confirmed they have reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for the Spanish forward’s transfer to the French champions.

The deal ends a four-and-a-half-season spell in which Torres has worn the Barça shirt, a period the club marked with a public message of thanks. In their statement, Barcelona expressed “gratitude to Ferran Torres for his dedication throughout the four and a half seasons in which he has defended the Barça shirt” and wished him “the best of luck in this new stage of his professional career.”

For Torres, that new stage comes in Paris, under a coach he knows well.

“I’m delighted to be beginning a new adventure at such an ambitious club as Paris Saint-Germain,” he said after the agreement was announced, underlining both the scale of the move and his own expectations.

The 24-year-old forward also made a point of naming the key figures behind the transfer. “I’d like to thank President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Luis Campos and coach Luis Enrique for giving me the opportunity to join the team, which I hope to help win as many trophies as possible.”

Barcelona lose a versatile attacker. PSG gain another weapon for a squad built to chase every title in sight.
