Ferran Torres Set for PSG Move as Barcelona Clears Path

Barcelona have effectively cleared the runway for Ferran Torres to join Paris Saint-Germain, and the move now feels like a countdown rather than a negotiation.

An initial agreement between the clubs is already in place for the Spain forward, with the last few hours dominated by a flurry of calls and revised proposals. Offers went back and forth, details were picked apart, and then the tone changed: both sides finally found common ground to close the deal.

The clearest sign came at training.

On Thursday, Mundo Deportivo revealed that Barcelona allowed Torres to miss first-team training for a second consecutive day. He was due back with Hansi Flick’s squad on Wednesday. Instead, at 26, he is spending these key days finalising his move to PSG, with the full consent of a club that is still in parallel talks with the French champions over the terms.

While Torres worked on his future, the rest of Flick’s group pushed on.

Pau Cubarsi, Dani Olmo and Lamine Yamal all reported for duty at the start of Wednesday’s session, reinforcing the core of a squad that is already beginning to take on Flick’s imprint. Pedri Gonzalez stayed inside, continuing his individual programme in the gym and never stepping onto the pitch.

Around them, a different kind of tension lingers. Marc Casado, Hector Fort, Jofre Torrents, Toni Fernandez and Gerard Martin continue to train away from the main group, their careers paused in a holding pattern as they wait for clarity. For each of them, the next decision could define the next few years. Right now, it is messy and uncertain.

Flick still has a sizeable contingent from the reserve ranks under his command. Goalkeeper Aron Yaakobishvili is working with the squad even as he edges closer to a move to Almeria. Centre-back Alvaro Cortes, right-back Xavi Espart, left-back Jordi Pesquer, midfielders Ibrahima Toncara, Aurin Gorin and Brian Farinas, plus striker Hamza Abdelkarim, all remain in the mix, training and auditioning while the market swirls around them.

Torres, though, is already stepping out of that picture. With Barcelona’s blessing, his next shirt looks set to be PSG’s. The only real question left is when the announcement drops.
