How Tie-Breakers Decide Group Rankings

• Goals scored in those matches

If still tied, it moves to overall group performance:

• Goal difference across all group games
• Total goals scored in all group games
• Team conduct score based on yellow/red cards
• Latest FIFA ranking as a final measure

Third-Place Teams Can Still Advance

One feature of this expanded format is that eight of the best third-place teams from the groups will also advance to the Round of 32. Their ranking depends on points, goal difference, goals scored, team conduct, and FIFA ranking.
