Galatasaray Rejects €130m Al-Hilal Bid for Victor Osimhen

Galatasaray have slammed the door on a huge Saudi move for Victor Osimhen, rejecting a €130m offer from Al-Hilal and making it clear the Nigerian is going nowhere this summer.

The Saudi Pro League club lodged the verbal proposal on Wednesday through intermediaries, pushing hard to finally land a striker they have chased for years. The answer from Istanbul was blunt: no deal.

According to Sky Sports, Galatasaray informed Al-Hilal they have no intention of entering talks over a sale in this window. Not at €130m. Not at all.

Osimhen has become the centrepiece of the Turkish champions’ attack since arriving from Napoli on an initial loan in 2024. He has exploded in front of goal, scoring 59 times in just 74 appearances in all competitions, numbers that have turned him into one of the most feared forwards in Europe.

That impact convinced Galatasaray to make the move permanent last summer for a club- and country-record fee of €75m, the highest transfer in Turkish football history. It was a statement signing then. Their response to Al-Hilal is an even louder one now.

Al-Hilal’s long pursuit hits another wall

This is not a new obsession for Al-Hilal. They pushed hard for Osimhen before his switch to Istanbul and have kept him on their radar ever since, waiting for the right moment to strike.

They believed this was it. The project in Riyadh is ambitious: build a squad capable of reclaiming the Saudi Pro League and peaking for a title push in the 2026/27 season. Last year’s finish — second, just two points behind champions Al-Nassr — has only sharpened that hunger.

The plan up front is clear. Al-Hilal are expected to sanction the departure of Darwin Nunez in the coming days, clearing space in the attack and on the wage bill. Osimhen was identified as the marquee replacement, the forward to lead a new phase of their rebuild.

The Saudi side have already flexed their financial muscle this summer with a £60m deal for Crysencio Summerville from West Ham United, adding him to a frontline that already includes Karim Benzema and Malcolm. Osimhen, though, would have been the crown jewel.

Instead, they have run straight into Galatasaray’s resolve. The Turkish champions are not in the mood to cash in on their star striker just as he hits his peak and with domestic and European ambitions still growing.

Al-Hilal’s money is on the table. Galatasaray’s answer is on record. The question now is simple: how far are the Saudis willing to push for a player whose club insists he is not for sale?
