Ilyas Ansah Joins Hull City: Premier League Dream Awaits

Hull City have landed one of Union Berlin’s brightest young forwards, with Ilyas Ansah arriving in England determined to turn a long‑held ambition into reality.

The 21-year-old, who featured in all but one of Union Berlin’s matches last season, comes off a campaign that underlined both his durability and his threat. He finished with five goals and three assists, a steady return for a player still shaping his game at the top level.

That progress has already carried him onto the international stage. Ansah has represented Germany at under-20 and under-21 level, a sign of how highly he is regarded in his homeland and a marker of the potential Hull believe they are buying into.

Now his focus is clear: crack the Premier League.

“I’m very excited. It’s a dream come true for me to play in the Premier League, and for such a big club – it’s really an honour for me,” he told the club after signing, the move clearly landing with real emotion.

He has done his homework, too.

“I have heard a lot about the club, the players and the team, and I’m excited to play with the boys and to get to know them,” he said. “It was an honour and a dream playing in the Bundesliga. Now, I have another dream to play in the Premier League, and I’m going to work hard for it.”

Ansah sells himself as a manager’s ideal forward: adaptable, energetic, willing to run and repeat.

“I’m a very flexible player. I can play almost anywhere up front – on the left side, on the right side, maybe as a 10. I’m definitely a player who always gives his best and leaves it all on the pitch.

“Taking my man on, beating players, shooting on target and scoring goals – that’s my main goal I want to reach at this club.”

Hull have started fast, with two wins from two setting an upbeat tone around the dressing room. Ansah knows he is stepping into a side already in motion.

“It’s been a really exciting start to the season – two wins out of two games. Now, it’s time for me to get into the team and be a part of what they are already achieving.”

The dream has brought him to England. The real test starts when the first Premier League defender tries to stop him.
