Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reports that the Nerazzurri have submitted a proposal worth in excess of €30m as they look to reinforce Christian Chivu’s back line. It’s a statement bid, underlining how serious Inter are about bringing the former Nottingham Forest standout back to Italy.

Spence has already had a taste of Serie A from his loan spell with Genoa, and the pull of Milan has clearly worked. According to GiveMeSport, the defender has reached full agreement on personal terms with Inter, effectively giving the green light to the move and signalling his intent to relaunch his career in Italy.

Spurs hold firm on valuation

Tottenham are not prepared to let him go on the cheap. Inter’s opening offer, understood to be around €30m (£25.6m), is significant, but Spurs are pushing for at least €35m (£30m) plus performance-related add-ons.
