At his unveiling, Ismael Saibari cut straight to the point. This move is about belief — his in Bayern, and Bayern’s in him.

“Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world,” he said, sitting in front of the cameras and crest. “They've given me the confidence that I can develop as a player and person here.”

That word — develop — hung in the air. Saibari isn’t arriving as a finished product, and he knows it. What sold him was the tempo and edge of Vincent Kompany’s side.

“They play with a lot of movement and high intensity. I saw that myself last season,” he explained. “They play very good football, it's always intense, they always look for finishes. I like that a lot.”

“My favourite position is the number ten, everyone knows that,” he said. That central pocket, just behind the striker, is where he feels most alive.

But he didn’t box himself in.

“I can play in several positions, we always switch around during games anyway. I can also play out wide and a bit deeper.”

That versatility will matter. Under Kompany, attackers are expected to drift, overload, and interchange. Saibari sounds ready for that kind of fluidity — to pop up between the lines, stretch the pitch from the flank, or drop into midfield when the game demands control.

For now, the priority is simple: complete the comeback from injury and step into a team built on intensity. Once that happens, Bayern and Saibari will decide exactly where on the pitch this ambitious project truly begins.
