Alvarez joined Atletico from Manchester City in summer 2024, signing a six-year deal running through 2030.

He reportedly earns a gross base salary of €12.5 million annually, roughly €7 million after taxes. Atletico has tried to retain him with offers pushing his net pay closer to €10 million per year.

His current contract includes a release clause of around €500 million.
