Juventus have ripped up their goalkeeping hierarchy and started again. Michele Di Gregorio and Mattia Perin are out, and in their place come two loanees the club have tracked for a long time: Guglielmo Vicario from Tottenham and Kamil Grabara from Wolfsburg.

Vicario on Grabara: “Healthy competition”

Vicario has already addressed the rivalry publicly and chose to underline respect rather than rivalry for rivalry’s sake.

Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, the Tottenham loanee highlighted Grabara’s pedigree and recent form:

“We all know each other more or less, I remember his great season in the Champions League with Copenhagen. He's a strong, quality goalkeeper. There's healthy competition between us, as it should be.”

No barbs. No posturing. Just the acknowledgement that the man behind him is good enough to take his place.

Vicario’s target is clear: stay Spalletti’s preferred choice from now until the end of the campaign. Grabara’s mission is just as simple: make that impossible.
