Juventus and Inter Milan Consider Frattesi–Gonzalez Swap
Juventus and Inter Milan are testing the waters on one of the most intriguing deals of the Italian summer: a potential swap involving Davide Frattesi and Nicolas Gonzalez.
Two clubs, two needs, one possible solution.
Spalletti’s target
Juventus have tracked Frattesi for a long time. With Luciano Spalletti pushing for a reunion, the Bianconeri see the Italy international as a midfielder who can immediately raise the technical level and intensity of their engine room.
They are watching the market carefully, ready to move if the right opening appears. A straight cash deal would be complicated. An exchange, though, changes the equation.
Inter’s winger hunt
On the other side, Inter have zeroed in on Nicolas Gonzalez as they search for another winger to deepen Simone Inzaghi’s attacking options.
The Argentinian has grown into a reliable, high-impact wide player over recent seasons. His profile fits what Inter want: pace, direct running, and end product from the flanks. Club executives consider him a serious candidate to bolster the squad.
That shared interest has brought the two clubs to the table.
According to Calciomercato, Juventus and Inter have opened talks based on a swap framework: Frattesi heading to Turin, Gonzalez to Milan. For Juventus, it would hand Spalletti a player he believes he can maximise. For Inter, it would deliver the winger they have been actively chasing.
Gonzalez’s stance and the market gap
The negotiations come with important context. Gonzalez impressed during his loan spell at Atletico Madrid last season, reminding everyone of his value at the top level.
The same report claims he has made it clear he does not want to play for Juventus again. That stance points towards a permanent exit being the only realistic path, and a swap deal is one of the cleaner ways to achieve it.
But there is a catch. Inside both clubs, there is no illusion that Frattesi and Gonzalez sit at exactly the same market value. Juventus, in particular, are expected to tread carefully. Any agreement would have to reflect the financial gap between the two players, likely through an additional cash component in their favour.
A delicate balance
For now, the talks are exploratory rather than decisive, but the logic is obvious. Inter get their winger. Juventus unlock a player their coach specifically wants, while moving on someone who has signalled he sees his future elsewhere.
If discussions keep moving in the right direction and the numbers finally align, this could become one of those rare swaps that genuinely suits everyone involved.
The next move belongs to the directors in Turin and Milan—because deals like this don’t linger forever.
