Liverpool are closing in on Bradley Barcola after reaching an outline agreement with Paris Saint-Germain over a blockbuster summer move.

The 23-year-old winger has been Liverpool’s priority target as the club searches for a new attacking talisman in the wake of Mo Salah’s departure to Trabzonspor on a free transfer earlier this month. At PSG he has found himself stuck behind Desire Doue and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia in the attacking hierarchy, while recent arrivals Ferran Torres, Maghnes Akliouche and Mika Godts have crowded the picture even further. A place in Liverpool’s transfer history

If finalised on those terms, Barcola will become the second-most expensive signing in Liverpool’s history. Only Alexander Isak, who arrived from Newcastle United for £125 million last year, would sit above him.

He would join Florian Wirtz in the £100 million bracket at Anfield. The German playmaker’s deal from Bayer Leverkusen includes a further £16 million in add-ons tied to Liverpool winning the Premier League or the UEFA Champions League, underlining the scale of the club’s recent financial backing for elite attacking talent.
