Liverpool's Pursuit of Bradley Barcola Gains Momentum

Liverpool’s pursuit of Bradley Barcola has been handed fresh encouragement, with Paris Saint-Germain now understood to be ready to accept a lower fee than their original sky‑high demand.

The Premier League side have already moved aggressively in this window. Victor Munoz has arrived from Osasuna to sharpen the attack, while centre-backs Jeremy Jacquet and Ronald Araujo have come in from Rennes and Barcelona to reinforce the spine. The rebuild is taking shape – but the hole left by Mohamed Salah still looms large on the flanks.

Liverpool initially explored a deal for Yan Diomande at RB Leipzig, only to see the winger lean towards a move to either PSG or Real Madrid. That forced a rethink. Attention swung to Barcola, a France international whose status under Luis Enrique has slipped as new stars have walked through the door at the Parc des Princes.

For weeks, Liverpool have been locked in talks with PSG, facing down a price tag reported at around £130m (€152m). French outlet Jeunes Footeux now reports that PSG have softened that stance. The Ligue 1 champions, who had been holding out for a minimum of €150m, are said to be willing to listen to offers in the €130m–€140m range.

It is hardly a fire sale. The numbers still scream “elite asset” and underline how highly PSG’s hierarchy rate Barcola. But it is a concession – a small opening in a previously closed door – and one that has been framed as something of a “gift” to Liverpool in the French report.

Will that nudge Liverpool into a decisive move? The suggestion is clear: PSG are not under pressure to sell and have no intention of trimming the price any further. This is as generous as they plan to be.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has added fuel to the story. Speaking on his YouTube channel, he highlighted the absence of Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye from PSG’s matchday squad and what that omission signals. With Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ferran Torres, Mika Goots and Maghnes Akliouche already crowding the attacking positions, Romano says the expectation inside the club is that both Barcola and Mbaye will leave.

Romano reports that Liverpool are not just circling – they are negotiating, confident and “pushing” to get Barcola over the line. Personal terms are said to be verbally agreed, removing one major obstacle from the deal.

Now comes the decisive stretch. Romano expects the transfer to “accelerate”, with the early part of the week described as a crucial phase in the saga. PSG have set their range. Liverpool know the cost. The winger who could help define their post-Salah era is within reach.

The question is simple: do Liverpool go all in for Barcola now, or risk watching another top wide forward slip away?
