Liverpool Considering Loan Offers for Keyrol Figueroa on Deadline Day

Liverpool head into transfer deadline day juggling two very different problems: glaring holes in the squad that need filling, and a cluster of players who simply have no clear pathway into the first team and must be moved on before the window slams shut.

Some of those decisions are already effectively made. Harvey Elliott is on the brink of joining Valencia, with that deal described as all but done. Questions remain over Federico Chiesa as well, a player once again without a clearly defined role at Anfield as the clock ticks down.

Then there is Keyrol Figueroa, a quieter storyline but an intriguing one.

The 20-year-old striker signed a new contract with Liverpool last season, a move that surprised plenty around the club. The expectation had been straightforward: see out his deal and walk away in 2026. Instead, he committed again, only to find himself no closer to the first-team picture.

Right now, he looks miles away from a senior breakthrough. That reality has pushed him back into the loan market.

According to The Athletic, Figueroa has two concrete offers on the table for a season-long loan. Liverpool are currently weighing up which proposal best suits his development. One of those bids is expected to be accepted today, unless a third club makes a late move.

Wherever he lands, it will almost certainly be a temporary home. What comes after that is entirely in his hands. His performances over the next year will dictate whether he can force his way into Liverpool’s long-term thinking or whether this is the start of a permanent move away.

For now, though, on a day dominated by headline deals and late drama, Figueroa is chasing something far more fundamental: a stage, a season, and a chance to prove he belongs.
