“No one from Liverpool FC has contacted us about renewing his contract yet,” he said.

“We have a valid contract and we are committed to it with Liverpool, and if the club does not offer to renew the contract, that is their right. At the moment, Alexis must give his best for the club in every game during the weekend.

“Alexis is not disappointed. This is a decision made by the club, and we do not judge their decisions, we just prepare for what is to come.”

The message is blunt: Liverpool hold the cards, and for now they are keeping them close to their chest. Mac Allister, for his part, is expected simply to keep performing.

Real Madrid rumours shut down

When Mac Allister struggled last season, the noise around him grew louder. Questions about his suitability, his position, his future. Transfer rumours followed, as they always do. Among the names linked, one stood out above the rest: Real Madrid.
