Manchester United Sign Liverpool Youngster Isaac Konde

Manchester United have moved to snatch highly rated Liverpool youngster Isaac Konde, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that a deal is now complete.

It is another bold raid on a rival academy from a club that has made a habit of it.

United strike again in the youth market

This summer’s window was packed with quiet academy manoeuvres beneath the noise of big-money signings. While headlines focused on senior stars, Premier League clubs quietly shuffled teenagers across the divide, betting on potential before it explodes in value.

United have been among the most aggressive. They lured David Eze and Karim Cassim from Manchester City and picked up Tynan Thompson from Tottenham. Now, they have turned to Liverpool’s youth ranks for their next project.

Konde, just 16, has yet to get close to Liverpool’s first team, but he did make six appearances for their under-18s last season. That was enough to put him on the radar of scouts across the country – and clearly enough to convince United he was worth the push.

Liverpool, according to academy specialist Lewis Bower, did not want to lose him. Bower revealed earlier in the summer that the club had offered Konde a scholarship deal to stay at Anfield. The teenager has instead chosen the path to Old Trafford.

For United fans, Bower’s insight offers an early hint of what is coming: a promising, adaptable forward who Liverpool felt was worth tying down. When a rival academy fights to keep a player, it usually says something.
